Please Help Brookfield Craft Center Remain Open!
Dear Friends,
During this season of giving thanks, we share our heartfelt gratitude with the creative community of the Brookfield Craft Center – our faculty, students, artists, members, volunteers, donors, supporters, customers, friends and neighbors. We are deeply grateful for your association with the Brookfield Craft Center – a special place to express craft, join together with a community of friends, and explore a center for craft education. For some, this is where you discovered your creativity, and confidence. For all of us, the Craft Center has very special meaning. Indeed, we are all connected to the Brookfield Craft Center in some way.
Like so many, our struggle has been made more difficult in these extraordinary economic times. The Craft Center faces the challenge of balancing its budget this year. We have responded to financial challenges by embracing the ideas, creativity and support of our artful community. As a not-for-profit, the Craft Center depends on people's donations to keep the doors open. Our need is greater than ever, and we have not yet made significant progress with our fundraising appeal. We need your support to keep our beloved Craft Center open.
As the end of the year approaches, please take this moment to show your support for the Brookfield Craft Center by making a generous gift to the Annual Fund. Gifts from friends like you have made all of our creative programs possible. Every size gift will make a big difference - truly no gift is too small (and is completely tax-deductible). We need the support of all of our friends and everyone who has enjoyed, and benefited from, our programs. A generous donor has offered to match contributions received before the end of the year of up to $500 on a dollar for dollar basis to a total of $5,000.
We are pleased to share our 2008 Year-in-Review with you. It has been year of community building – to engage our artists, faculty, students, neighbors and friends in our programs and activities. It has been a busy and exciting year for the Craft Center, with many activities to reach new audiences and organizations sharing a belief in our mission.
We truly believe that the Craft Center has been responsive to our community and deserves your support. If you share our love and dedication to the Center and the many craft artists we support, now is the time to come to our aid. Please give as generously as you can. If you have been a contributor, please consider giving something extra this year. If you have not yet contributed, this would be a great time to begin with your first donation!
Thank you so much in advance for your generosity. We thank you for your kind and generous gifts.
Sincerely yours,
John I. Russell Bruce Haims
